The Roman coins were found by teenagers George Young, his brother Jack Young, and a friend, Ernest Slinn, in 1922, on a ledge in a cave in Eastwood, Ashover. They range from Septimus Severus (193-211 AD) to Gordiamus III (238-244 AD). Altogether there were 43 coins of small value, some bones and a silver ring. |
